Hoopdie
(2001) Imagine if kids driving around the neighborhood listening
to bass heavy techno and rap enjoyed really happy music. This fun, but
highly virtuosic seven minute work is written for a five-octave marimba
and a variety of percussion instruments; bass drum, tom-toms, suspended
cymbals, hi-hat, brake drum, and wood block. The piece was composed
for and is dedicated to percussionist Lindsay Reitzel. |
